Alaskana Bookshop
Eugene Short

Anchorage, AK 99503-7000

Rare and out-of-print books about Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, hunting and fishing, and USGS bulletins/professional paper. We have as complete as possible inventory of out-of-print books about Alaska. Eugene Short, the owner, has been a collector for over 40 years and has had the shop for the past 33 years. His current personal interest is miniatures, but he is well-known as an authority on Alaskan literature, and the shop is kept in as early-day Alaskan style as is comfortable. The friendly black cat will greet you.

Store's vision: To preserve and return Alaskan literature to its home, the Bookshop building is about 50 years old, a typical frontier home. The owner is the former dean of the Anchorage Community College. We mostly serve collectors and stock and constantly search for hard-to-find Alaskana material.
