The Untold StoryBy Kathlena Kriscilla Kowchee "Whoa! That was cool," Imaq laughed. It was hard to believe that he was laughing. He hardly ever laughs since he has a pH of 5.9, mine is 7; what a healthy drop I am! I feel very sorry for him. Since he's in such a good mood I won't say anything about it. "That was so cool, wasn't it, Kusiq? "Yeah cool, Imaq aren't you worried you'll evaporate?" "No you worry too much! You promised you'd never say evaporate around me!" "Oh, Sorry, Imaq." Ever since our family evaporated he doesn't like the word evaporate, I don't know why. Imaq is sort of jealous of me, because fish want me around, every plant wants to be my friend. Gee, I don't like to be around slimy fish or stinky plants! Mama was always saying go by the fish! Go by the plants, help the water world. Fish need you! BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH BLAH! I'm sort of glad that she isn't here! I'm sick and tired of it! I wish I could live my own life! I just feel like throwing a tantrum, but I'll keep my emotions bottled. Uh, oh! -- Imaq's coming! "Kusiq, come on let's go get splashed around some more by those kids swimming." "I'm coming." a few minutes later in the river... "Imaq they saw us." "So? What about it?" "No, they saw our faces!" Humans talking: "See Alice? Look; you see them?" "Yeah you Jessica?" said Alice "Yup! What are they?" said Jessica "Little drops with faces!" Kat said "We will be famous!" "I know, we will get money." "Don't be stupid Alice and Jessica! We won't get money for that, they'll think you're out of you're mind!" I snapped. "Jessica, Kat, where are they?" "Get them!" (Little drops talking) "Come on Imaq, swish for your life!" "I'm trying, Kusiq!" We quickly swished down the steam and around the bend in the island. "Stop! We can stop now." "Kusiq, that was scary, I'm afraid!" "Ha, ha ha ha!" "What?" "You're not afraid of anything!" "I'm not!" "What was that sissy stuff? Ha ha!" "Don't need to tell me! You're just joking!" "I don't find that very funny" "Imaq, watch out! Seagull!" "Very funny!" "No! Look out!" A huge white seagull landed on the water with a splash almost crushing Imaq. "Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!" "Told you!" We decided to hide out for a while so we dropped down to the rocky bottom of the the bottom of the river bed. After almost being swallowed by a seagull we found a shelter. Imaq and I sleep there for about a week and moved on. On our way we saw pike weed. "Excuse me, miss. Do you happen to know where Golovin Lagoon is?" "Yes it's down that way and uh, uh, uh" "JUST GIVE US THE WAY!" "Vamoose you little monsters!" We quickly swished down stream. "Imaq you lost our way! Man!" "We will have to stay under a rock again?" "Yes! Gosh, can you get any worse?" "Hey, look at that creepy dark hole Kusiq." "Whoa! Come on!" When we went in I heard Imaq crying. It sounded like he was afraid. I turned around. There he was shedding tears, so we had to turn around and go back out. Imaq may look real tough and brave, but he's afraid of the dark, also he's afraid of places that are old and almost ready to fall down. "Imaq, help me look for shelter!" "Okay, don't let it be too dark. (Gulp!)" "Ha, ha ha ha! Fraidy cat!" "Stop teasing, I'm gonna tell Mom!" "Oh Yeah? Where is she? How you gonna tell her?" "I don't know, but I'll tell her!" "What'cha gonna do, sissy?" "I'll order 48 lb. of D.O. in middle of the night." "Good, I like D.O." "I'll write your name all over the boy's bathroom in school." "I'll be known for such courage, huh?" "I'll tell everyone you have a weird disease." "I'll be pretty famous." "Stop it!" "Why, sissy?" "Wah, wah, wah, wah!!!" "Oh stop it! You sound like a seagull." "Got ya!" "You little worm, I'll twist you into a pretzel, smash you into pieces, then feed you to the fish." "Speaking of fish Kusiq, swish for your life! There's one behind you!" "Oh no, I'm not falling for that one!" "Ahhhh!" In an instant a large silver salmon swallowed both of us. "Yuck! It's disgusting in here! It's so smelly and gross! I'm in a stomach! Oh help me Imaq!" "Here I come Kusiq!" "Hey, what are you doing?" "Just move around a lot." "Why? Will he puke?" "Yep! " "Oh you got the most weirdest ways of getting out of stuff." Almost immediately we found ourselves traveling back up the silver salmon's throat surrounded by small smelly pieces of fish and stomach acid. "EWE... this is gross!" "Hey, at least we're saved!" "Thanks! I would have turned all yellow!" "Let's go!" On the journey we met a blue berry that fell into the water. We asked where we were. She seemed very nice. Her name was Madame Blueberry. We asked her why she had tears. She told us she got separated by her family by savage humans. I wonder why she has a French accent and is in Alaska? She told us that we are at blueberry hill. We all looked up, there was blue and green all over. She said if we float down with the current, we should be able to get to Golovin. We continued the journey. On the way Imaq was crying a lot, so I didn't get to venture into a cave or have a good time. So it was pretty boring. "Kusiq we need D.O., got any drop money?" "No you used it for drop gel!" "Oh yeah! My top was sticking up that day!" "Imaq, it's supposed to stick up!" "Oh...OH yeah it is! Hey we can sell it!" "Great idea! Let's go!" When we reached half way to the ocean, we saw some one's fish camp. There was a little girl with short hair throwing rocks. "Yes! Free D.O. " "Come on Imaq, come right here... okay, get ready." Wah! Refreshing! Refilled with D.O.! On the way, I started to notice something Imaq didn't. He was turning a lighter brown every week! I didn't want to tell him though. Reaching Golovin Bay, we saw lots of drops, so much we didn't know whose family to join. We decided to just stay by ourselves. Also there was a little drop who was all by her self, so we took care of her. She was adventurous, fun, and she always teased Imaq. Her name was Aqua. We lived in a big rock that had a carved out middle. We each had our own room. In about five weeks Aqua and I were able to see right through Imaq. He now had a pH of seven like Aqua and I. His name wasn't Imaq anymore. His new name was Mr. Clear. One morning when we woke up the whole house was shaking all over. Mr. Clear was crying again. Aqua was really worried. She swished to the door only to flnd a bear looking looking for fish. "Bad bear! Bad, BAD bear!" Aqua yelled at the top of her lungs. He came up for air and went back down. He sniffed Aqua. She was terrified. Aqau started to scream. Mr. Clear and I came quickly and pulled her. The bear was just about to drink her. It took her an hour to calm down. When she calmed down she saw a lock of bear fur floating in the house and she started back up again. Later we heard a knock at the door, Aqua started freaking and instead of a bear it was our best friend Pinky the flower. I invited her in. She told us she would be there for only a short amount of time. She said she was returning our possessions. She emptied her leaf apron. Mr.Clear's and my D.O. bottles, crayons, paper, drop money, and candy fell to the floor. We thanked her and let her have some tea. I took off her sweater and she said oh no! She floated strait up to the ceiling. I put it back on and she said she must be going. We started to put our things away we heard a stick bumping the door. Aqua said, "What did I do to you people?!" She swished to her room. I answered the door. No one was there. I looked up. It was Mr. Cat. He said we left a D.O. package in his fur. I said thank you to him. He zoomed away nearly instantly. While watching Mr. Cat go, I told Mr. Clear to put the package away. There was another knock at the door. I heard Aqua yelling, "Take it away, TAKE IT AWAY!" I answered the door. It was Knoxy Foxy. She said she was sorry that she scared us before and gave us packages. It was two full zip lock bags with D.O. I couldn't help it, but I had to ask where she got it. "Oh, I knew you guys needed it, so I saw this D.O. box that a group of kids had..." "Foxy!" "Well I scared them when I was going to ask them for two little packages. They ran off so I scared them." "Thank you Foxy!" "Well I must be going! Bye!" Since I was just about irritated from answering the door, I left it open. No one else came so I closed it. Just think if I never went through all this you wouldn't be hearing this story right now. |
