Remember

By Jessica Radford

Remember the time when the buffalo roamed
The time seasons changed from tone to tone
The sky was much bluer and the clouds much whiter
The raindrops falling lighter and lighter
The grass was much greener
And the beasts were meaner

Remember me when the sky is blue
When the raindrops are falling causing dew
When the pebbles on the beach
Are carefully counted each
When the sea sparkles from time to time
When you are listening to seashells and hear them chime

Remember when the moon was bright
Shining through the cracks at night
Beams from the stars up above
Like singing from the beaks of doves
Aurora would swirl in galaxies
While a light breeze dances in the trees

Remember me when the time is right
When all birds are taking flight
When the leaves on the trees are golden brown
And each and every leaf has fallen down
Misty blue air is all around
And everyone outside is homeward bound

Remember the snow falling on cedars
When you could walk alone for meters and meters
The crisp air stinging your nose
And the arctic chill freezing your toes
Crystals of ice drift everywhere
And you see dappled snow here and there

We will always have this time in our dreams
With sugar plums and fairy wings
But no matter how far
Apart we are
I will still be there
And go with you everywhere

Remember me always
Forget me never
For I shall be with you
Forever and ever
