The Fire

By Kari Jenkins

The
fire
burning
in my
house
coming
towards my
door
climbing
out the
window
I feel safe
and
protected.
from inside my gerbil
chewing loudly
and fish
swimming rapidly
I feel
like crying
but luckily
the fire-
men get
them. Now
I am
happy.
