Summer 2000
Houston, Alaska
Dear Annika,
It is SO cool out here at my cabin near Houston! There is a small lake called Beaver Lake outside my cabin. I have gone water skiing twice this weekend! Our neighbors, the Petersons, have this REALLY unique dock with a swing and a bench and at least four boats! My cabin used to be surrounded by lots of spruce, birch trees, and berry bushes. They are all black now because of the Millers Reach fire that happened a couple of years ago. It is still really quiet and peaceful around here and I know, in time, the trees will grow back again. It is definitely the great Alaskan place!
Always,
Kathy Norquist
