The Halibut
By Skylar Arend
A long time ago there was a hunter and his village was very poor. They had no food because all the animals had moved away.
He put on his parka and left for the coast to fish. The hunter soon came to the coast and put his hook in the water and waited.
Just then a halibut jumped out and said, "I'd like to bite the hook if I could but my mouth is too small to bite it."
So, a conversation began between the hunter and the halibut.
Soon the hunter heard he was the only halibut there and so the hunter asked, "Where are the halibut?"
The fish told the hunter where the other halibut were because he knew the people were hungry and he knew he couldn't be taken out of the water easily because he was so slippery. The hunter's village was never hungry again.
