My Unlucky Day
By Jamila Reynolds
Yes, I am finally going to win! I am finally going to beat my little brother! Ha ha ha! I am the best! I yell while turning around to see how far ahead I am in the bike race.
Watch out Jamila! my brother shouts to me.
Thats when it hit me -- or should I say -- thats when I hit it. I ran straight into our neighbors mailbox.
You really have bad luck, Jamila! my brother yells, speeding across the finish line.
He is so right. I was having the worst day. A day that I will never forget.
I woke up that morning on the floor. Dont ask me how I got there, but I did. The greatest soccer game of all time was supposed to be on at 7 a.m., and I was ready. The sad thing was that the power went off last night and my alarm got reset somehow. So instead of getting up at 7:00 I got up at 11:00. I was so angry that I thought I was going to explode. I ran downstairs to tell my brother and I missed the first step and fell to the bottom of the staircase. I was too angry to eat so I turned on the computer and the TV to maybe catch the highlights of the game. The game was on. They were just about to show the winning goal when I sat down and missed the chair. I hit the floor like a rock that got slammed to the ground. Picking myself up off the floor I heard, Score!! And The Wizards won the championship!
I couldnt believe it. I had a chance to see the winning goal, and I missed it because of a stupid rolling chair. Well I was too mad to get on the computer, so I turned it off and decided to go outside and ride my bike. As I was riding my bike around the neighborhood, my brother yelled like an annoying little pest, Bet you cant beat me around the loop, Jamila!
I was already ahead so I said, No problem! It was neck and neck most of the way, but I was soon pulling into the lead again. Coming down the hill so fast was my favorite part, and since I was good at it, I thought it would be no problem. Just to make sure I was far in the lead, I turned around to see where my brother was and
So here I am, lying in front of my neighbors mailbox. Some people would say I am just having one of those days, but I say I am cursed. So as you can see, my day didnt go exactly as I planned. I missed the game, I fell down the stairs, I slipped off the chair, and my brother beat me again around the loop. What a horrible day.
